About Z-Demag and Audio Component Demagnetizing... Z-Demag CD7000 is engineered to help netrualize the magnetic buildup widely accepted as the cause of subtle audio system distortion. Magnetic buildup "contaminates" the entire component signal chain and "coats" the program with a "virtual film" of light distrortion. It is our opinion that DC leakage and other "elecro-mechanically" introduced gauss cause this distortion and dimish the clearity of recorded program material. How It Works... The process is known as demagnetizing or degaussing. Z-Demag CD7000 utilizes two degaussing tracks: a complex compostie audio signal fade and a linear 60 Hz slow fade. These signals work to neturalize magnetism in audio system components by radomly dispursing residual polorization. The result is dimished distortion throughout the signal chain. After you have run the Z-Demag CD7000 disc you may immediately notice that the sound is clearer and more transparent. You may also notice improved depth and dynamics. The level of sonic improvements will depend on the condition of your audio system, prior to running the demagnetizing tracks. . If your system is not magnetized you may not hear a differecne. Tracks Included: 1. 1kHz Sine Wave Test Tone (Full Level 0 Peak) - Use this signal to set your system to a comfortable listening level.2. Composite Degauss Signal - The Degauss is a composite of several key audio signals in the audio spectrum. The composite signal begins at your predetermined listening level and fades to digital black (digital zero) 3. 60 Hz Dequass Slow Fade - This signal is a pure sine wave at 60 Hz. The signal begins at your predetermined listening level and fades to digital black (digital Zero). Directions: Step One: Turn the volume control all the way down. Step Two: Insert Z-Demag CD7000 disc into CD/DVD player. Step 3: Push play and carefully adjust your volume contol to a confortable listening level using the 1 kHz setup tone on track 1. Recommendtations: For audio systems used daily, we recommend Z-Demag CD7000 be played once per week. For systems used less often, we recommend using the CD after every 10 hours of combined use.
